Leighton Bearchell performs well at provincial high school golf championships

Leighton Bearchell from Peacock shot a final round 75 to finish seventh overall at the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association’s provincial golf championships at the Weyburn golf club.

Bearchell shot a two-day 154 to finish six shots behind the winner Marc Henderson from Weyburn.

Peacock’s Ciara Spratt was 16th in the girls event. She shot an opening round 100 and a second round 106 to finish well in the top half of the field. Assiniboia’s Mackenzie Embury (118-113 — 231) was 32nd overall.

Thea Hedemann from Saskatoon Walter Murray (79-83 — 162) won the girls title by an impressive 14 strokes.
