A near-perfect spring has the golf season in full swing at the Deer Ridge Golf Course.
The newly expanded driving range has been open for more than a week and they’ve already opened the front nine. The course is hoping to open the back nine by late Thursday.
“It’s been unbelievable,” said Deer Ridge general manager Doug Corrin. “There’s been good weather. The river didn’t flood, so that’s always good. Everything wintered really, really well.”
Not only has the warm spring done wonders for the course, but it’s also had a lot of duffers dusting off their clubs early this season.
“The range has been full pretty much all day and I’d say we’ve had 70 people out golfing already,” said Corrin.
The biggest changes to Deer Ridge this season come at the end of the course.
“Our 17th and 18th hole have both changed,” said Corrin. “Those are the only two greens we’re kind of waiting on. We figure they’re probably going to be a couple of weeks.
