Searcy takes 11-shot lead in women's golf tournament

Marlyce Searcy put together a strong opening round to grab a robust 11-shot lead at the women’s city golf championship.

Searcy shot an opening round 87 Tuesday at the Hillcrest. The final round will be played today at the Lynbrook.

Jean Kempel sits in second place with a 98, while Brenda Halstead’s 99 has her right behind Kempel. Chantal Devine and Ciara Spratt both shot 102 to sit tied for fourth.
