The weekend’s conditions were hardly fit for golfing as the wind was swirling and the rain was pouring, but that did not stop golfers putting on skillful displays at the 2010 Lynbrook Club Championships Saturday and Sunday.
Trevor Benson was crowned the Men’s Club Championship and had the best score of anybody in the tournament with a two day total of 146, with a 71 on Saturday and 75 Sunday.
Benson, who also won this tournament last year, lead throughout the entire tournament and was everything was all said and done, he beat the rest of the field by 14 strokes.
The winner of the Ladies Club Championship was Liz Allen, who shot a 190, 92 on Saturday and 98 Sunday.
“It feels pretty good. I wasn’t expecting to win but I had some good shots and lady luck was on my side,” said Allen. “I made some great putts and I had a score that came together.”
Allen feels that she had a good all around game which helped her come to the top of the scoring charts after the weekend was finished.
