Thursday will mark the next step in the Western Hockey League dreams of dozens of hockey players.
There are about 80 kids coming into camp, from ages 15 to 20, vying for spots on the team for this year and in the future according to Warriors coach Dave Hunchak.
"My expectations as a coach don't change from last year's camp," said Hunchak, entering his second season as Warriors' bench boss. "We set a bit of a standard with how hard they worked and how hard they competed. I want to take that to the next level for our camp this year."
Practice sessions will start Thursday at 4 p.m. and scrimmages get going Friday at 9 a.m. and going through all day Saturday.

"Sunday, we'll break into our two intrasquad teams and we'll practice them in the morning, and the intrasquad game will be Sunday night," said Hunchak.
Those scrimmages and the intrasquad game will be watched intently by Hunchak, new assistant coach Kevin Higo, general manager Chad Lang and scouting director Rob MacLachlan. In order to catch the attention of those gentlemen, players have to play within their roles and play good at it, said Hunchak.
"Players are very intelligent when it comes to who they're up against and who they have to beat out," said Hunchak. "If you're a bubble guy, you have to do something really good in order to catch the attention of myself, Kevin, Chad, Rob and the scouting staff to garner yourself more time."
