There’s no margin for error in the Western Hockey League’s Eastern Conference.
Given how incredibly close the conference standings continue to be, one bad week can undo a lot of hard work and pull a team back to the pack.
Friday the Moose Jaw Warriors lost 4-1 on the road to the Red Deer Rebels. It was their fourth straight loss.
The Warriors are 15-10-1-1 and sit fifth in the Eastern Conference standings.
They will try to right the ship tonight when they face the floundering Edmonton Oil Kings (8 p.m., Country 100) who have won once in their last 10 games.
Andrej Kudrna had a goal and two assists for the Rebels, while linemate Landon Ferraro had a goal and an assist for the home side. Josh Cowen and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored the other Rebels goals.
Quinton Howden scored his 12th of the season to tie the game in the second period, but Kudrna’s four-on-four goal 1:43 later put the Rebels up for good.
Jeff Bosch made 30 saves for the Warriors.
Darcy Kuemper was only called upon to make 21 saves for the Rebels.
