Warriors rally for a point in shootout loss to Red Deer

    Quinton Howden and Thomas Frazee scored in the final 1:33 with their net empty as the Moose Jaw Warriors were able to force overtime and earn a point before losing 4-3 in a shootout to the Red Deer Rebels.

    Red Deer’s Willie Coetzee scored the only goal in the shootout Friday night in Western Hockey League action.

    Darcy Kuemper made 41 saves in regulation and three more in the shootout for the Rebels (30-20-0-4).

    Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored twice and Justin Weller had the other goal for the visitors.

    Dylan McIlrath had the other Warriors (26-19-4-4) goal.

    Brandon Glover made 37 saves for the Warriors.
