Scoring first hasn’t done much good for the Moose Jaw Warriors during their current road trip.
Saturday night in Everett, Quinton Howden scored 1:32 into the game, but the Everett Silvertips scored five unanswered goals for a 5-1 win.
The Warriors are now 1-3 on the trip as they prepare to face Portland Monday afternoon.
The Warriors record drops to 27-22-4-4. They are tied for seventh place in the Western Hockey League’s Eastern Conference with Swift Current.
Tyler Maxwell scored a pair of goals for the Silvertips while Chris de la Lande, Chris Langkow and Scott MacDonald also scored.
Brandon Glover gave up three goals on 14 shots in goal for the Warriors. Glover was pulled 8:04 into the second period. Jeff Bosch stopped 11 of the 13 shots he faced in relief.
In three games against the U.S. Division, the Warriors have only enjoyed four power plays.
