Team South West's Female Hockey club won both of their games Thursday to open their Saskatchewan Winter Games tournament. They beat Team Regina 5-3 in the morning before laying the wood on Team Rivers West 9-1 in the evening. Both games were held at the Civic Centre.
Team South West's Jade Popescul contributed on four of the five goals against Regina, with two goals and two assists. In the evening game, her teammate Sarah Spence had five points, including a hat trick and two assists.
South West plays tomorrow at 15 Wing against Team Parkland Valley, who lost to Rivers West Thursday morning 6-5.
