South West female hockey gold medal winners.

It was pandemonium at the Bert Hunt Arena after Team South West beat their rivals from Team South East 8-2 and were awarded with the Saskatchewan Winter Games gold medal.

Besides their first game of the tournament Thursday against Regina in a 5-3 win, South West wasn't tested for the rest of the competition.

South West captain Olivia Howe scored a hat trick in the final game, including a beautiful backhanded deke goal in the third period to seal the deal.

Prairie Central was awarded with the bronze medal.
