Rielly ranked fifth overall

The National Hockey League Central Scouting Bureau released its final rankings for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft on Monday and Moose Jaw Warriors defenceman Morgan Rielly was ranked the fifth overall North American skater.

Nail Yakupov of the Sarnia Sting in the Ontario Hockey League was ranked first overall and Ryan Murray, former defenceman of the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in 2008-09 and current Everett Silvertips is ranked second overall. Quebec Remparts centre and Sarnia’s Alex Galchenyuk are ranked third and fourth, respectively.

Warriors’ defenceman Travis Brown was ranked 89th overall in the North American skaters.

The NHL Draft Lottery takes place today (6p.m., TSN)  and following the completion of the Stanley Cup playoff, the draft will occur at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh on June 22.
