Two Warriors make Subway Super Series roster

Moose Jaw Warriors

The Western Hockey League announced the rosters for the Team WHL that will compete against Team Russia in the Subway Super Series next month.

Warriors’ defenceman Morgan Rielly will play in both games on Nov. 14 in Vancouver and Nov. 15 in Victoria and forward Sam Fioretti will make his first appearance at the Subway Series in Victoria.

The Subway Super Series features regionals teams from the Canadian Hockey League All-Stars competing against the Russian National Junior Team in a six-game event serving as an integral part of the identification process for Team Canada prior to the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.

The WHL hosts the final two games of the series and last year it was held at Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw.

A special committee selected the team and the WHL roster consists of 29 players, including five defencemen selected in the top eight of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
