Former Warrior Ryan Stanton who was claimed off of waivers by the Vancouver Canucks. It was the only NHL waiver claim as the league's teams trimmed their roster before the season starts Tuesday.
The 24-year-old got to hoist the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks last year after making his NHL debut in the Hawks’ final regular season game of the season.
Chicago had to place Stanton on waivers to return him to the AHL, but the Canucks have added him to their opening-day NHL roster.
Stanton has played the previous three season Rockford in the AHL. He had three goals, 25 points and 126 penalty minutes in 73 games in Rockford last season.
The six-foot-two, 196-pounder played 242 career games with the Warriors.
