Moose Jaw Generals

The Moose Jaw Generals got some goals from some unexpected sources as they cruised to a 5-1 win over the Swift Current Legionnaires Thursday.

Josh Beaudry scored twice and Bhody Magnusson had a goal and two assists as the Generals’ record improved to 20-8-4 in Sask. Midget AAA Hockey League action. The Generals will host the Beardy’s Blackhawks Saturday night (7 p.m., Mosaic Place) and the Prince Albert Mintos (1:30 p.m., Mosaic Place) on Sunday afternoon.

Beaudry’s two-goal night gives him three goals on the season after he joined the team at the start of December. Magnusson had two points in 10 games this season before his three-point night Thursday.

Beaudry and Trey Tendler scored 42 seconds apart in the first period to give the Generals a 2-0 lead. Swift Current’s Kolby Johnson replied for the home side early in the second, but Beaudry restored the General’s two-goal lead 25 seconds later.

Rykr Cole also scored for the Generals.

Grant Naherniak made 29 saves in goal for the Generals.
