Cole's hat trick helps pace Generals to win

It only took 32 seconds for Rykr Cole to open the scoring for the Moose Jaw Generals Saturday.

More impressively, it only took him 10:44 to complete a natural hat trick as the Generals romped to an 8-2 win over the Beardy's Blackhawks at Mosaic Place.

The Generals scored a pair of short-handed goals in the second period to extend their lead to 5-2 before they added a pair of power play goals in the final frame.

In addition to Cole's three-goal night, Trey Tendler scored twice and added an assist. Riley Cannon, Caleb Riess and Josh Miller also scored. Dawson Davidson, Donovan Neuls and Jared Legien each had two assists for the Generals.

Carson Boehm and Davlin Smallchild both scored for Beardy's.

Colby Entz made 11 saves for the Generals who out-shot Beardy's 37-13.

The Generals record improves to 21-8-4 on the season. They will host the Prince Albert Mintos Sunday (1:30 p.m., Mosaic Place).
