Moose Jaw Warriors

Three goals in less than four minutes sunk the Moose Jaw Warriors Saturday in Medicine Hat.

The Tigers cruised to a 6-1 win after they broke the game open in the second period.

The Warriors are back in action Monday (2 p.m. at Mosaic Place) when they host the Victoria Royals. There will be a family fun skate with the team following the game.

Curtis Valk opened the scoring for the Tigers 16 second into the game with his 34th goal of the season.

The Tigers blew the game open when Steven Owre, Chad Labelle and Anthony Ast scored 3:31 apart.

Jesse Forsberg got the Warriors on the board later in the middle frame, but Kyle Becker scored 59 seconds later to give the Tigers a 5-1 lead.

Trevor Cox scored a power play goal in the third for the Tigers who finished 2-for-2 on the power play.

The Warriors were 0-for-2 with the man advantage.

Justin Paulic made 31 saves in the loss.

Nick Schneider made 29 saves in goal for the Tigers.

The Warriors were without captain Sam Fioretti who left Friday's 4-2 win in Lethbridge in the third period after feeling the effects of a high hit he took earlier in the game.

Scott Cooke also served the second game of the his two-game suspension. That left the Warriors with 10 forwards and only 17 skaters.

Colton McCarthy helped fill the void as he came back to the lineup Friday after missing five games.
