Moose Jaw's Joel Jordison organized a bit of a shake-up in his curling team in the offseason.
Jordison's Bushell Park-based foursome, which also included third Scott Bitz and lead Dean Hicke, underwent a makeover at second, with Aryn Schmidt taking over for Derek Owens.
"We've been a good team the last couple of years, and I think we just kind of thought that bringing in a different style of player at second might make a positive difference to our squad," said Jordison. "I'm not sure if it will. It's one of those things we're just kind of hoping."
Schmidt, who has filled in on the team in the past, brings a rock and roll style as opposed to Owens' deft touch on softer weights. The team will have a heavy earlier part of the schedule this season to try to get consistency.
