Horse and cattle shows attract competitors to 15th annual Eyebrow Fair

EYEBROW - The community of Eyebrow recently held its 15th annual fair in conjunction with the Eyebrow Centennial.
Friday evening kicked off the weekend with a catered supper and a parade which included more than 40 floats and entries. Following the parade was an old-time dance held in the hall.
Saturday morning started off the fair events with the pancake breakfast put on by the Eyebrow Fire Protection Society Inc.
The horse show held in the outdoor rink featured more than 23 head of horses in the day's events.
Nine head of cattle were entered in the supreme jackpot cattle class. Eight teams participated in the slo- pitch tournament, a record number for the fair.
Other events included children's games, a jumping castle, Olga and Friends old-time entertainment, seniors' pie booth and Eyebrow Curling Club concession. History books, recipe books and Eyebrow souvenirs were on sale.
The household arts display had a record number of entries as well as a penny parade and silent auction. A catered supper was served and the refreshment gardens were open for business.
A cabaret followed with Trick Ryder and the evening finale was the 20 minute fireworks display.

Horse show results
Results for the horse show are as follows:
Pony halter: Sprite shown by Haylee Rae Ellard, first.
Yearling halter: CC Spanish Class shown by Courtney Cochrane, first.
Three year old and over mare: Rulers Misty Bonanza and Devon Cochrane, first; Appachie and Kayla Francis, second; Destiny and Carley Manz, third; Flicka and Shallyn Francis, fourth; Mollly and Desiree Francis, fifth.
Three year old and over gelding: Gone & Dun It shown by Blaine Burns, first; Skippa Leo String and Courtney Cochrane, second; Mr Stubs and Emma Yeo, third; Sonny and Hunter Sattler, fourth; A Tax Nightmare and Kayla Ayara, fifth; Boone and McKayla Sattler, fifth.
Grand champion halter horse: Rulers Misty Bonanza shown by Lesley Cochrane; reserve champion halter horse, Gone and Dun It shown by Blaine Burns.
