The event, held in Venice September 6 to 13, was the largest championship ever, boasting more than 2,500 competitors.
Hemsing finished 10th in his weight class with his left arm and 27th with his right. The class featured 40 pullers.
“Anytime I go, I want to get top 10,” said Hemsing, adding that he could have done better with his right arm had he not been exhausted from the 12-hours of competition the day before.
“I was pretty wiped out from the day before because I was in a venue with no air conditioning.”
Local club to host casino tournament
The local arm wrestling club will be hosting one of the largest tournaments in the country in November in conjunction with Casino Moose Jaw.
The event will take place November 6-7, and will try to broaden the appeal of the sport to a wider audience.
