The Moose Jaw Kinsmen Wrestling Club has set a high standard of excellence in the province in recent years.
The club looks to be starting this season where they left off. Thirteen local wrestlers attended the Elrose Freshie-Bantam tournament this past weekend and earned 12 gold — seven of which were gold.
Wyatt Reid and Austin Richardson won their Bantam weight classes, Kurtis Busch, T.J. Busch, Kolby Nant and Devin Kiryk won Pee Wee gold, while Ryan Stefanovic was first in his Novice division.
It was Richardson’s first competition, while Carter Stusek finished second, Joshua Hagerty third and Keyan Seibel fourth in their first tournament.
Tony Cushway and Max Blanford also won silver medals in Elrose and Danton Hartman won a bronze.
