The Moose Jaw Miller Express and coach JR Bierly have parted ways.
"The organization and himself (JR) agreed that the decision was beneficial to both parties," said Express president Darryl Pisio in a statement.
Bierly, in his first season as coach of the Express, left with the team on their four-game Alberta trip Thursday and coached Friday night in Sherwood Park. He leaves the team with a league-worst 6-19 record - including 2-10 in their last 12 - and only 11 games remaining in the campaign. The Express are 7.5 games behind Saskatoon for the final playoff spot.
Express director of player personnel/player Cory Olafson will take over the team's coaching duties for the rest of the season.
"Cory has a wealth of baseball knowledge and the players respect him and his philosophies on and off the diamond," Pisio said.
