Element Panthers volleyball win gold in Saskatoon

The Element Panthers volleyball had a successful tournament in Saskatoon on Sunday. The team participated in the Saskatoon JCVC 16U Women’s Tournament and brought home the gold.

The team finished the round robin action in first place with a 7-1 record. In their first game, Element defeated Prince Albert Espirit 25-20 and 25-14. Next match was against the Swift Current Junior Sundogs and defeated them 25-17 and 25-12. The teams’ first loss came again JCVC Red with a set score of 25-23, but Element won the first set 25-17. In the final round robin match up, Element defeated Martensville Outerlimits team by 25-12 and 25-19 scores.

In the final against Wakaw, the game went to three sets. Element opened with a 25-16 first set win, but lost the second set 25-22 and won the final set with a close 15-8 score to win the gold medal.

The Panthers will take part in the SVA Sask Cup on Mar. 24-25 in Yorkton.
