The Moose Jaw Element club volleyball team will be starting up their Element House League this weekend.

The House League is for girls in Grade 7 and 8. Interested players can register Sunday at noon at the SIAST Palliser gym, the first practice will take place immediately following at 12:30 p.m.

The eight-week league will run until Dec. 8 and the cost is $60.

Palliser Panthers coaches Lewie Bell and Chris Knoop will coach in the house league, along with 20 Panthers coaches who will offer instruction to the players.

This is the 10th anniversary of the Element Volleyball Club program.

In that time the club has grown from 17 players to more than 140 taking part in the club annually. The club has 60 players taking part in the house league and another 90 playing on the club’s traveling teams.

When they started, the Element had a lone 14-and-under girls team. Now they have eight traveling teams for both boys and girls from the 14U to 18U age groups.

To date, 14 Element alumni have played at the college or CIS level.

The club will hold it’s traveling team tryouts on Sunday, Nov. 18. Times and more information will be determined closer to the date. More information will be posted at http://www.gopanthers.ca. Interested players can also contact Lewie Bell at 630-8390.
