Caronport and Central earned their way into the Tier I pools at the Moose Jaw Senior Boys Volleyball Tournament.

The two area schools both finished in the top half of their preliminary pool Friday to stay in contention for a title when the tournament continues today at Peacock and Vanier.

Central was second in Pool B after beating Mossbank 25-11, 25-15 and Oxbow 25-14, 25-19 before losing to Estevan 25-21, 25-11.

Caronport was 3-3 and finished second in Pool C. The Cougars beat Avonlea 25-16, 25-9, split with Regina Balfour 20-25, 25-13 and lost 25-18, 25-16 to Swift Current. Avonlea finished 0-6 in the pool.

Peacock was third in Pool A. They beat Frontier 27-25, 25-19, but lost 25-20, 25-20 to Prince Albert Carlton and 25-19, 25-16 to Winnipeg Garden City.

Vanier finished 0-6 in Pool D. They lost 25-19, 25-19 to Yorkton; 25-13, 25-20 to Melfort and 25-14, 25-10 to Weyburn.
