It was a strong weekend of competition for the eight local skaters who took part at the Skate Canada Saskatchewan Sectionals at the Pla-Mor Palace.

Ryann Terry from the Moose Jaw Skating Club finished second in the Pre-Juvenile  Women (under-11) category. It was a strong showing for the young skater.

Maria Rigetti from the Prairie Edge School of Skating finished fourth in the same category.

Because of their youth, there isn’t a Pre-Juvenile category at the national-level Skate Canada Challenge.

Adrianna Phillips was fifth in the Pre-Novice Women’s skate, Prairie Edge skater Kirah Brown was right behind her in sixth. Brown had the fourth-best free skate while allowed her to climb six spots up the standings.

Erika Wilson from the Moose Jaw Skating Club was 21st in the very deep Pre-Novice field.

Alexandrea Gray from Prairie Edge finished seventh in the Pre-Juvenile Women (under-14) category, while Kiana Avery — also from Prairie Edge — finished 17th.

Paige Hager from the Moose Jaw Skating Club finished seventh in the Novice category. She finished seventh in both of her skates.
