It was a perfect start to the SHSAA 4A boys volleyball championships for the Caronport Cougars.
The Cougars are 3-0 in Pool B as they head into the medal today in Nipawin.
The Cougars dropped their first game 25-20 to Yorkton Regional before winning six straight games. The Cougars came back to beat Yorkton 2-1 (20-25, 25-21, 25-19) and then beat Osler V.C.A. 2-0 (25-16, 25-15) and Biggar 2-0 (25-15, 25-17).
At the SHSAA 3A boys volleyball provincials in Maidstone, the Riverview Royals will need to win Saturday morning to ensure that they advance from Pool B.
The Royals are 1-2 after the opening day. They opened by suffering a 2-0 (25-20, 25-17) loss to Saskatoon Christian. The Royals rebounded by posting a come-from-behind win against Carrot River. After dropping the first game, the Royals won 2-1 (20-25, 25-21, 25-6). In the final match they lost 2-0 (25-20, 25-23) to Wilkie.
Both provincial tournament will wrap up today.
