For a sport with specialized skills, Moose Jaw’s biathlon competitors sure seem to be naturals.
This past weekend in Regina Devon Schweiger won the junior boys and senior boys provincial biathlon championship. Fellow local competitor Tye Silljer was second in the senior boys race.
It was their second taste of competition after taking up the sport in advance of the Sask. Winter Games.
Moose Jaw’s Kyana Park, Talia Park and Abbie-May Shaw also competed at provincials.
Schweiger, 14, is a junior boy who was also bumped up to the senior age group for provincials. He won a silver medal at the Sask. Winter Games in the junior male spring and won bronze in the junior male mass start.
