Remax overcame a slow start to do some damage in the middle innings as they beat the Park Hotel Giants 11-7 Thursday night.

The Game 2 win gives Remax a 2-0 series lead in their best-of-five Memorial Field Fastball League semifinal series. Game 3 was supposed to follow Thursday, but was rained out and re-sheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Memorial Field.

The Giants came out blasting as Todd Ortman, Darryl Callaghan and Scott Moerike each hit solo home runs in the first inning.

The Giants’ 3-0 lead didn’t last as Remax put up three runs in the top of the third to go ahead 4-3. Scott Osmanchenko led off with a double and was driven home by Bart Mihalicz who came around to score. Tim McKaig hit a solo home run to put Remax ahead.

Remax put the game away in the fourth when they added six more runs. Mihalicz, McKaig and Dave Beisal each hit RBI singles and Elmer Wiebe added an RBI double to give Remax a 10-3 lead.

The Giants chipped away. Ortman and Rick Armbruster drove in runs and Callaghan hit his second solo homer of the game to lead off the seventh and cut the lead to 11-7, but the Giants got no closer.

McKaig won his second game of the series for Remax. He was also 4-for-4 at the plate with three RBI, a home run, a double and three runs scored. Mihalicz scored three times to go with his two RBI.

Callaghan scored three times, while Moerike was 3-for-4 with two runs and a stolen base.
