A 5-0 victory over Caronport is certainly a positive for the Central Cyclone girls soccer team.
A game that saw a few players take big steps forward is even better.
After a scoreless first half Thursday, Central came out in a big way, with Trudy McBean’s two goals leading the offence. “It was just a strong showing for the girls once they got the ball rolling,” said Central coach Dave Moore. “Caronport played well, too. They really just had difficulty finishing their plays. But the first half was a strong game by Caronport.”
Janelle Shillington, Colby Wilson and Chelsea Fielding also scored for Central.
