The Cyclones fell to Swift Current on a double-header bill Saturday that also saw them beat Estevan 5-0. “For our girls, playing that way against Swift Current, we had two wins (today),” said Central coach Dave Moore. “This was a fun game for the girls. When you play against a strong team, it only improves your game. Our girls probably learned as much about playing soccer playing against a team like this as they do in practice.”
The Cyclones had lost 9-0 on Thursday in Swift Current, and their main focus Saturday was simply to do better. “We wanted to (allow) less than nine goals and get a goal (ourselves). That was the strategy and we got that,” said Moore. “We’re pretty happy and I’m happy with them. We’re a greatly improved team.”
Estevan also fell 2-0 to Caronport Saturday, while Swift Current demolished the Cougars 14-1.
