The Vanier Spirits won their second straight 2A provincial girls soccer championship Saturday as they beat the Notre Dame Hounds 2-0 in Regina.

Kaitlin Thiessen headed in a free kick from Carman Fielding to open the scoring before Linnea Smith converted a penalty kick to add to the Spirits’ lead.

Goalkeeper Alex Kowalski made a fantastic leaping save to preserve her shutout for Vanier.

Regina Miller beat Peacock 1-0 in the bronze medal game.
