After playing five games in two days, the three local girls high school soccer teams learned a lot about themselves and a little about each other.

When the dust settled Saturday at the 16-team tournament there was little to choose between the local teams. Vanier lost their final two games to finish fourth in the second-place pool. Peacock and Central split their final two games — Peacock finished second in the third-place pool and Central third.

Vanier had a tough Saturday losing to Regina Campbell 6-0 and then to Yorkton Sacred Heart by the same score.

Peacock and Central met Saturday morning. The Tornadoes came away 2-1 winners as Toni Williams-Greatorex and Paige Dell scored. Lindsay Fish replied for the Cyclones.

Peacock lost 6-2 to Weyburn in their final game of the weekend. Dell and Paige Lister scored. Central finished the weekend with a win as Nikki Armstrong, Taylor Kell and Valerina Berisha scored in a 3-1 victory over Balgonie Greenall.

In the championship final Regina LeBoldus beat Swift Current 4-0. Swift Current, who play in the Moose Jaw league, beat Notre Dame in the semifinal 2-0.
