Moose Jaw -
Drew Hager is going to get one shot at the high school badminton provincial championship and he wants to make the most of it.
The Central senior has been busy training all season long to get the most out of his final badminton season and the week leading up to Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association's provincials was no different.
"It's definitely new territory," said Hager who is making his provincials debut.
"I've been doing lots this week. I guess it's just the normal routine," said Hager. Part of his training included a trip to Caronport where he practiced with their girls doubles team of Kaitlin Fehr and Brooke Olmstead, who are also headed to provincials after they finished second at regionals.
Hager qualified in boys' singles at the regional tournament in Whitewood. Despite going undefeated there, he wasn't particularly happy with his play. He feels he's worked out some of the kinks in practice and is feeling good heading to Melville.
