Keegan Arnyek insists he's not getting bored with breaking records.
The Vanier track star added three more to his running total on a highly successful track season. He now owns new best-ever numbers in the midget boys 100m, 200m and triple jump.
"At the last meet I broke records, too, so it's nice to be able to break them here as well," said Arnyek. "I always try to beat my own times."
The triple jump was the longest-standing record, set in 1991. Arnyek's distance was 12.60m Wednesday, an improvement of an astounding 79 cm. His records on the track were closer calls, with the new times of 10.92 seconds in the 100m and 23.40 seconds in the 200m both edging the previous ones by 0.40 seconds. Coincidentally, that's the same fraction his relay team missed their record by.
"It would have been cool to break that record, too," he said.
