There isn’t much Kailey Smith hasn’t achieved in her track career at the University of Saskatchewan.
The Moose Jaw runner added one of the few honours missing from her accomplished collegiate career when she won two individual golds at the Canada West indoor track championships in Edmonton this past weekend.
Smith won the women’s 600 metres in a time of one minute, 33.78 seconds. She also won the 1,000m in 2:50.20. She added a third gold medal as she ran the anchor on the Huskies’ 4x800m team with Julene Friesen Amanda Banks and Marcia Richards.
Smith and Friesen joined Sharai Siemens and Ashley Gerstmar in winning a silver in the 4x400m relay.
She and her Huskies teammates will attend the CIS nationals are March 11-13 in Windsor, Ont.
