The South Central zone finished an impressive third overall at the SHSAA provincial track and field meet Saturday.
Vanier’s Keegan Arnyek finished tied for the overall junior boys title after he won the triple jump and finished third in the 200m. Arnyek finished the meet with four medals, plus was part of the medal-winning 4x100m relay team.
Sadie Schaeffer from Vanier won three medals as well as she won bronze in the midget girls 3,000m and the 800m.
In other local results from Saturday, Peacock’s McKenna Ehman won the midget girls shot put.
Vanier’s Leif Fryklund was third in the senior boys high jump.
Vanier’s Morgyn Olmstead was second in the midget girls 800m and Central’s Lindsay Fish was second in the midget girls 3,000m.
In the senior boys discus Riverview’s Brody Wasmann was second and Central’s Jacques Geyer was third.
The South Central girls 4x400m relay team finished third.
The district’s midget boys and junior boys 4x100 teams both finished second.
