On Sunday, Emmett and Graeme Harrison pulled off an seemingly impossible feat of athletic multitasking.

Not only did they manage to qualify for a spot each for the 27th Annual Senior Bowl as members of Team South, but they also won their third consecutive relay title at the Regina Police Services Half Marathon within mere hours of each other.

After running both of their legs of the race, the Harrisons didn’t even have time to watch teammate and race anchor Regan Silversides finish the course. They had to rush over to Mosaic Stadium to attend the Team South tryouts.

Emmett said he found out that his team won via text messages shortly after the race was completed.

Despite being rather heavy legged after running the marathon, the Harrisons managed to stay fresh enough to make Team South.

“I slept good (that) night, that’s for sure,” said Emmett with a chuckle. “I was tired. It was hard, but we planned it out before and we were prepared.”
