A nervous opening didn’t hurt the Peacock Toilers, but their girls volleyball team knows they will have to be better Saturday at the 5A regional championships.

The Toilers beat the Yorkton Sacred Heart Saints 23-25, 25-11, 25-20 to win their first game in Pool B play. In other Friday Pool B action Yorkton Regional beat Estevan 25-9, 25-12.

Two spots at provincials in Weyburn are on the line at Peacock. Weyburn is taking part in the regional qualifier, but has an automatic berth as host of the provincial tournament.

Central will begin play Saturday in Pool A with Weyburn and Balgonie.

The second and third place teams in each group will meet in a quarter-final at 3:30 p.m. The semifinals are slated for 5 p.m. and the final is at 6:30 p.m. All games are at Peacock.

It is nice to see that peacock and central are going to regional, but i do understand that Vanier senior girls are also going to regionals in Shaunovon on the weekend,so were is the write up about them and also about the Senior boys finals.I do believe that it is caronport vs Vanier, were is the write up on them, they are also schools from Moose Jaw .So if you are going to do write ups on school sports then include all of the schools. They all deserve to be recognized.
