The Central Cyclones picked up a hard-earned split at the SHSAA 5A girls provincials in Weyburn.
The Cyclones lost to Saskatoon Mahoney 2-1 (25-18, 18-25, 25-20), but rallied to beat Prince Albert Carlton 2-1 (27-29, 25-17, 25-15).
In Clavet, the Vanier Spirits girls team dropped their first two games at the 4A provincials.
Vanier lost 2-0 (25-15, 25-16) to Lumsden and 2-0 (25-16, 25-17) to Humboldt.
The Cyclones boys are also off to an 0-2 start in the 5A boys provincials in Balgonie.
Central lost 2-0 (25-18, 25-13) to Saskatoon St. Joseph and then lost 2-0 (25-16, 25-16) to Balgonie Greenall.
All three teams will play their final two pool games today. The top three teams in each pool advance to the playoffs.
