The Riverview/Cornerstone Royals and the Caronport Cougars are well positioned to make the playoffs at the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association’s 4A boys provincial volleyball championships.
The Cougars finished play Friday with a 2-0 record following a pair of straight set wins. The Cougars beat Humboldt 2-0 (25-17, 25-13) and beat Onion Lake Eagleview 2-0 (25-10, 25-18).
The Cougars will complete pool play Saturday against Lumsden (2-0) and Melville (0-2).
The Royals finished opening day play in Pool A with a 1-1 record. They beat Wilkie 2-0 (25-18, 25-14) after dropping their opener 2-0 (25-19, 25-21) to the two-time defending provincial champions from Kelvington.
The Royals will face Oxbow (2-0) and Melfort (0-2).
