The Moose Jaw Element 14U boys volleyball team played in four tournaments this year and medalled in all of them, including grabbing a bronze this weekend at the 2010 Saskatchewan Volley Provincials in Saskatoon.
They beat the Prince Albert Smashing Bananas in three close sets in the bronze medal match, but were able to win two sets thanks to some quality serving.
“We served very aggressive that game which helped us win,” said Gray.
On the way to the bronze medal game, the Element lost their only round robin game to eventual silver medalists Waldheim and finished second in their pool.
They had a quarterfinals dogfight against a tough Martensville club before losing in the semifinals to the eventual champions Regina JCVC.
