The Moose Jaw Element Extreme and the Regina Radz have been the two best 17-and-under women’s volleyball teams in the province all season.
So it figured that they would meet in the provincial final.
Saturday it was the Radz who prevailed posting a 25-10, 25-17 win over the Element to claim the Saskatchewan Volleyball Association provincial title.
“In the final I thought (Regina) played really well,” said Element Extreme coach Lewie Bell. “We didn’t pass well enough to get a really good offence going. Playing against a strong team, if you aren’t hitting and attacking the ball well, then you’re giving them a chance to get easy passes and attack back at you.”
The Element Extreme will now attend the Canadian Open national championship in Abbotsford, B.C. from May 14-16.
