Heading into this upcoming fall season, the Briercrest Clippers Women’s Volleyball team knew they would be missing two staples of their team, Lindsay Wood and Ashley Streuber who both played on the left side of the Clipper’s court.
Nolan Weinmaster, Clippers head coach hoped he could recruit a big, powerful striking left side player with a high ceiling to help fill the gap and have a key player there for years to come with a solid chance to contribute this year.
Weinmaster he says he found exactly that in Erin Anderson, who has quite the v-ball resume.
This season, she lead Hanley Composite School to its highest finish in two decades, third in the SHSAA Districts and missing this year’s provincials by only one game.
Anderson has also been a leader with her club team, Saskatoon’s JCVC Extreme and represented Team Saskatchewan twice at the U16 level.
“We’re excited about her. She’s got lots of height at six feet tall, a strong player and she’s going to bring a lot of offensive strength to the lineup,” said Weinmaster. “She’ll be the biggest left side player we’ve had for a while. Obviously, she’s a first year player coming in but I think she can be a good addition to the program and if she works hard during the summer she can have an impact this year.”
