Moose Jaw - To say that the Moose Jaw Diving Club has seen outstanding growth would be an understatement.
While the club had sent a maximum of three divers to previous meets, two weeks ago at the Regina Diving Club's Springboard Diving Meet, seven local divers finished first or second in their class.
"We did very well, what's really exciting is that we had eight divers there - that's the most we've ever had over the last few years," said Moose Jaw Diving Club coach Nelson Bryksa. "The club is relatively young. We've only been here for about four years now.
"Proportionately with the other cities we're doing just fine. Per capita I think we're doing as well as Regina or Saskatoon."
In Tier II one-metre competition, Kathrina Avery won the Girls A (16-18) competition and Matthew Flanagan was first in the Boys F (under-seven) class. Abbi Flanagan was second in Girls C (12-13) and Rebeka Flanagan was second in Girls D (10-11).
In Tier III one-metre competition, Andrew Martens won the Boys D (10-11) and Karlie Lucas won the Girls C (12-13) event. Kaili Flanagan was second in the Girls D (10-11) group, which also featured Moose Jaw's Mikayla Blaschuk.
