Gord Jago presided at the March 23 meeting of the Early Bird Lions Club.
Treasurer Paul Schauerte reported that money has been received from the Saskatchewan government for raffle sales and from CNIB for the club's share of the car raffle tickets. A meeting of the duck derby committee was held recently.
Laura Connors reported the money given to Central Collegiate for a breakfast program for ESL students has been used. Students appreciated the donation and have offered to help at Lions Club projects.
Volunteers will help at the next blood donor clinic.
Paul Marcil said the club has been asked to provide bartenders for a June 27 wedding at the Sportsman's Centre and members agreed.
Club members were asked to assist at the May 3 Multiple Sclerosis Walk.
Perogy, Cabbage Roll Sale
Perogies and cabbage rolls will be on sale at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The sale will take place in the church hall at 846 Grandview St. West. Information is available by calling 692-7582.
Public swimming
During the Easter break April 13-17, public swimming hours will run from 1:15 to 4 p.m. at the Kinsmen Sportsplex.
