Moose Jaw's Krystal Shaw picked up her first medal at the Jeux du Canada Games Thursday, winning a bronze in the 100m butterfly event. Shaving 54 seconds off of her preliminary time, Shaw posted a time of 1:24.62 to finish third in the race.
Earlier in the day, she finished fourth in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 2:15.30 in the final.
Shaw, 15, has arthrogryposis, a congenital disorder that results in multiple joint contractures and muscle weakness. She competes in the Swimmer With A Disability category.
Next up for the aquatic Moose Javian is the 50m freestyle and 200m individual medley competitions today.

They may be out of the medal race, but the Saskatchewan boys baseball team isn't done their Canada Games tour yet. The prairie lads will take on New Brunswick in the fifth-place game today at 7 a.m. MDT.
Finishing the round robin portion of the tournament with a 2-2 record put Team Sask in fourth place in their pool, ahead of only winless Prince Edward Island.
In Thursday's semifinal action, Quebec beat Manitoba 4-1 while Alberta knocked off Ontario 2-0. Alberta and Quebec will face off in the gold medal game today, while Ontario and Manitoba will battle for bronze.
