Krystal Shaw's stint at the Jeux du Canada Games in Prince Edward Island last week was a successful one in her eyes, as the Moose Jaw swimmer picked up a bronze medal while competing in six events.
Shaw returned to Moose Jaw early Sunday morning, and said the experience was a great one.
"I did pretty good, actually," she said. "I really enjoyed all the entertainment and competition.
"I went to a concert and a couple of shows, like a hypnotist."
But distractions aside, Shaw was there to get her swim on.
Competing in the Swimmer With A Disability (SWAD) category, the 15-year-old started the week with middle-of-the pack finishes - not disappointing, given the high level of competition from across Canada.
Shaw earned her bronze medal in the 100m butterfly last Thursday, thus succeeding in her stated goal of winning some hardware at the Games.
"I was really happy. It was a lot of fun," said Shaw of the third-place finish. "I wasn't expecting it, especially with my 100m fly."
