Each pay day, Moose Jaw's Darlene Lowenberg fills up her vehicle at Main Street Shell where she works, buys some magazines and purchases a couple of scratch-and-win lottery tickets. On Oct. 22 (two days before her wedding anniversary), she had an unexpected surprise added to her pay day routine.
"I'll never forget that day," Lowenberg said, adding she still has trouble believing her good fortune. "I still pinch myself."
The 58-year-old scratched her ticket inside the Shell station before going home, gasping when she saw how much the ticket was worth.
"My manager heard me and said, 'Is it a big one?' and I said, 'It's a big one all right.'"
Lowenberg won $21,000 off a "Blackjack" $2 instant lottery ticket, money she intends to share with her children, use to buy various items such a computer, put away for the future and conduct a few home improvements.
