Businesses in Moose Jaw have the opportunity to learn about credit card fraud and new credit card chips at a special event next week.

Jan Fluter, from TD Financial Services in Regina, will be speaking at the Heritage Inn on Oct. 22 from 11:45 a.m. to 1p.m.

The informal luncheon has been organized by the Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce.

Executive director Brian Martynook said the event would mark Small Business Week, which takes place across Canada from Oct. 19 to 25.

He said: “We are having a speaker to update businesses regarding new credit cards with the chip and how they can watch for fraud with credit cards.

“With new technology, businesses have to be up–to–date on all the new changes going on with credit cards.

“Credit card fraud is not really a problem here but we want to make sure there is not a problem and to update small businesses.

“If they have any questions, they can bring them forward to.”
