MARKHAM, Ont. - The RCMP say they've dismantled a massive counterfeit DVD manufacturing lab in a Markham, Ont., home.

Police say the pirate DVD lab was discovered after the residents called York regional police on Monday to report a home invasion.

RCMP officers seized approximately 100,000 pirated copies of North American titled movies — including some which are still in theatres.

Also seized were 128 DVD burners capable of copying more than 8,000 movies per day and 25,600 blank DVDs on spindles.

Two Markham residents, aged 61 and 49, are charged under the Copyright Act and with possession of property obtained by crime.
